إِنَّ إِلَهَكُمْ لَوَحِدٌ
The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, and Lord of the easts.*

رَبُّ السَّمَوَتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ الْمَشَرِقِ

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ الْكَوَاكِبِ

They cannot spy on the High Society; they get bombarded from every side.

لَا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى الْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَى وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
They have been condemned; they have incurred an eternal retribution.

دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
If any of them ventures to charge the outer limits, he gets struck with a fierce projectile.

إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ الْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ

وَقَالُوا يَوَيْلَنَا هَذَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
This is the day of decision that you used to disbelieve in.

هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Summon the transgressors, and their spouses, and the idols they worshiped

احْشُرُوا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَأَزْوَجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ

مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَاهْدُوهُمْ إِلَى صِرَطِ الْجَحِيمِ

They will say (to their leaders), "You used to come to us from the right side."

قَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنْ الْيَمِينِ
They will respond, "It is you who were not believers.

قَالُوا بَلْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
"We never had any power over you; it is you who were wicked.

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ سُلْطَنٍ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَغِينَ
"We justly incurred our Lord's judgment; now we have to suffer.

فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ
"We misled you, only because we were astray."

فَأَغْوَيْنَكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَوِينَ
Thus, together they will all partake of the retribution on that day.

فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
This is how we requite the guilty.

وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا ءالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَجْنُونٍ

بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
With them will be wonderful companions.

وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَصِرَتُ الطَّرْفِ عِينٌ

كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَكْنُونٌ

قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدْتَ لَتُرْدِينِ
"If it were not for my Lord's blessing, I would have been with you now.

وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنْ الْمُحْضَرِينَ
"(Do you still believe) that we die,

أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
"only the first death, and we never receive any requital?"

إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

Victory for the Messengers Guaranteed

وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
We have sent to them warners.

قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَهُ بُنْيَنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِي الْجَحِيمِ
They schemed against him, but we made them the losers.

فَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَهُمْ الْأَسْفَلِينَ
He said, "I am going to my Lord; He will guide me."

وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ
"My Lord, grant me righteous children."

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ الصَّلِحِينَ
We gave him good news of a good child.

فَبَشَّرْنَهُ بِغُلَمٍ حَلِيمٍ

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ

Then we sent him to a hundred thousand,* or more.

وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الْمُرْسَلِينَ
