And those who gently take (the souls of the believers) joyfully.

وَالنَّشِطَتِ نَشْطًا
And those floating everywhere.

وَالسَّبِحَتِ سَبْحًا
Eagerly racing with one another -

فَالسَّبِقَتِ سَبْقًا
to carry out various commands.

فَالْمُدَبِّرَتِ أَمْرًا
The day the quake quakes.

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ
Followed by the second blow.

تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ
Certain minds will be terrified.

قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
Their eyes will be subdued.

أَبْصَرُهَا خَشِعَةٌ
They will say, "We have been recreated from the grave!

يَقُولُونَ أَءنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ

أَءذَا كُنَّا عِظَمًا نَخِرَةً
They had said, "This is an impossible recurrence."

قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ

فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَحِدَةٌ

هَلْ أتَكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى

اذْهَبْ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَى
Tell him, "Would you not reform?

فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَى أَنْ تَزَكَّى
"Let me guide you to your Lord, that you may turn reverent."

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَى
He then showed him the great miracle.

فَأَرَهُ الْاءيَةَ الْكُبْرَى
But he disbelieved and rebelled.

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَى
Then he turned away in a hurry.

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَى
He summoned and proclaimed.

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَى
He said, "I am your Lord; most high."

فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمْ الْأَعْلَى
Consequently, GOD committed him to the retribution in the Hereafter, as well as in the first life.

فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْاءخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَى
This is a lesson for the reverent.

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَى
Are you more difficult to create than the heaven? He constructed it.

ءأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمْ السَّمَاءُ بَنَهَا

He made its night dark, and brightened its morn.

وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَهَا
He made the earth egg-shaped.*

وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ دَحَهَا
From it, He produced its own water and pasture.

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَهَا
He established the mountains.

وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَهَا
All this to provide life support for you and your animals.

مَتَعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَمِكُمْ
Then, when the great blow comes.

فَإِذَا جَاءَتْ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَى
That is the day when the human will remember everything he did.

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَنُ مَا سَعَى

وَبُرِّزَتْ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَى

فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَى
Who was preoccupied with this life.

وَءاثَرَ الْحَيَوةَ الدُّنْيَا
Hell will be the abode.

فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى
As for the one who reverenced the majesty of his Lord, and enjoined the self from sinful lusts.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنْ الْهَوَى
Paradise will be the abode.

فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى
They ask you about the Hour, and when it will take place!

يَسْءلُونَكَ عَنْ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَهَا
It is not you (Muhammad) who is destined to announce its time.

فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَهَا
Your Lord decides its fate.

إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَهَا
Your mission is to warn those who expect it.

إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَهَا
The day they see it, they will feel as if they lasted one evening or half a day.

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَهَا
