Stir up clouds.

وَالنَّشِرَتِ نَشْرًا
Distribute the provisions.

فَالْفَرِقَتِ فَرْقًا
Deliver messages.
Deliver messages.
فَالْمُلْقِيَتِ ذِكْرًا
Good news, as well as warnings.

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
What is promised will come to pass.

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَقِعٌ
Thus, when the stars are put out.

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ
The mountains are blown up.

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
The messengers are summoned.

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أقِّتَتْ
That is the appointed day.

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

وَمَا أَدْرَكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ
Woe on that day to the rejectors.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Did we not annihilate the earlier generations?

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكْ الْأَوَّلِينَ

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمْ الْاءخِرِينَ
This is what we do to the criminals.

كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Did we not create you from a lowly liquid?*

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ
Then we placed it in a well-protected repository.

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ

إِلَى قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍ

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَدِرُونَ

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَتًا

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَسِيَ شَمِخَتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَكُمْ مَاءً فُرَاتًا

انطَلِقُوا إِلَى مَا كُنتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

انطَلِقوا إلَى ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَثِ شُعَبٍ
Yet, it provides neither coolness, nor protection from the heat.

لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ اللَّهَبِ
It throws sparks as big as mansions.

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ
As yellow as the color of camels.

كَأَنَّهُ جِمَلَت صُفْرٌ

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
That is the day they do not speak.

هَذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
Nor are they given permission to apologize.

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيءا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
