I swear by the Day of Resurrection.

وَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ

Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones?

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَنُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ

Yes indeed; we are able to reconstruct his finger tip.

بَلَى قَدِرِينَ عَلَى أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ

But the human being tends to believe only what he sees in front of him.

بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ

He doubts the Day of Resurrection!

يَسْءلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَمَةِ

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ

وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ

وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ

The human being will say on that day, "Where is the escape?"

يَقُولُ الْإِنسَنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ

Absolutely, there is no escape.

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

To your Lord, on that day, is the final destiny.

إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ

The human being will be informed, on that day, of everything he did to advance himself, and everything he did to regress himself.

يُنَبَّؤا الْإِنسَنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

وَلَوْ أَلْقَى مَعَاذِيرَهُ

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ

Some faces, on that day, will be happy.

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ

Other faces will be, on that day, miserable.

وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ

تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ

Indeed, when (the soul) reaches the throat.

كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتْ التَّرَاقِي

And it is ordered: "Let go!"

وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى
